While acknowledging traits of ADHD (and Autism) I also aim to address academic, emotional and interpersonal difficulties that result from these.
Coaching helps you to find ways to overcome these challenges. We look at practical skills to help you manage daily life, offering support and encouargement along the way. We’ll find functional strategies to support executive functioning, attention, emotional regulation, impulsivity, and anxiety. However, I also advocate a strengths-based approach. Acknowledging what you value and where your strengths lie is critical to building self-esteem and supporting you to be your best self.
I use principles found in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to encourage goal setting, prioritisation, motivation, organisational skills, planning and scheduling, problem solving, stress management, impulse control, confidence building, relationships and communication skills, memory improvement and study skills.
The first session allows you to reflect in your level of satisfaction in all areas of your life to develop clear, long-term goals to guide future coaching sessions. Sessions are 30-60 minutes long, as agreed by you.
I am a qualified teacher, DBS checked, and have a range of CPD training, which includes certification in ‘Neurodiversity in Coaching for Effective Practice’, accredited by the International Coaching Federation. I also have extensive personal and professional experience working with ADHD.
